VSP host successful FFA goalkeeper course

Thirty coaches recently took part in the FFA’s first revised goalkeeper course held at the home of Football NSW, Valentine Sports Park.

Overseen by FFA’s National Community Coach Developer Les Bee, the two day practical course held in late November, had a couple of household names that took part in what was an insightful  experience enjoyed by all.

The presentations were led by James Rankine while former 1974 World Cup Socceroo and newly appointed Football NSW Goalkeeper Coach Education Coordinator Jim Fraser were joined by ex-NSL star gloveman Bobby Catlin, former Central Coast Mariners shotstopper Matthew Nash as well as former State League keepers Trinity Allen and Dragan Pupovac.

Bee gave glowing wraps in what were two fantastic days shared with more courses on the horizon around NSW scheduled in 2016.

“I am looking forward to my continued relationship with Football NSW and Oscar Gonzalez in supporting the range of initiatives we have identified for coach development.

“Examples such as the CCC pilots and the expansion of the Coach’s survival kit amongst others.”
