Milan Blagojevic’s Football NSW Institute Under 15s have won themselves a trip to the United Kingdom later this year as they have been crowned 2015 Manchester United Premier Cup Pacific Finals Champions securing a 3-0 victory over Kiwi side Onehunga Sports at Valentine Sports Park.
The two day finals series played at Football NSW’s headquarters saw ten teams from across Australia lock horns with the prize of representing this region up for grabs,.
The Institute side won themselves a finals spot after a successful group stage played on Saturday which saw them defeat Belnonnen United 6-1, Onehunga Sports 3-1, FFV NTC 1-0 and then recording a scoreless draw against the Emerging Jets.
Sunday then saw the successful Institute side defeat FFSA NTC 2-0 in the semi-finals before taking out the big finale by beating Onehunga Sports for the second time in this prestigious tournament 3 goals to nil.
Goals by Ramy Najjarine, Ahmed Sweedan and John Roberts all but sealed the Football Institute’s fate much to the delight of coach Blagojevic as well as assistant coaches Damir Prodanovic and Jason Falzon.
The Manchester United Premier Cup started in the United Kingdom as a regional tournament in 1993.
A combined passion for the beautiful game joined the forces of Manchester United FC and Nike to grow the competition into one of the largest and most highly regarded football events of its kind.
Over one million players have taken part in the Manchester United Premier Cup.
Football NSW Institute’s Under 15 squad will now be one of the teams who have earned the opportunity for a once in a lifetime experience to represent Australia and New Zealand on the World Stage.
The World Finals have been played all over the globe and this year the Grand Final will be played at Old Trafford.
