Football NSW’s spiritual home ground Valentine Sports Park was a hive of activity on Saturday 6th of February as it hosted the 2019-2020 Summer Football Champion of Champions Finals with Northern Suburbs FA 2 taking out the men’s category and St George FA 1 clinching the women’s title.

The successful Finals day saw a total of fifteen men’s and women’s All Age sides from the St George FA, Northern Suburbs FA as well as Gladesville Sharks, Kellyville Kolts, Narellan Rangers and Leichhardt Saints all battle for prized silverware in being crowned Champions.

Played in a COVID-19 safe environment, Football NSW’s Club Development and Participation Coordinator Trevor Huxley was impressed with how the day unfolded.

“What a day it was to see our sport celebrated once more after a tough 2019 period with the Summer Football Champion of Champions taking centre stage at Valentine Sports Park.

“Played with ferocious competitiveness but also in great spirit, the talent on show was there to be seen by many who witnessed what were fantastic matches played.

“A big thankyou to the officials from the Nepean Referees group as well as the St John’s first aiders who were amazing help and offered tremendous support on the day.”

In steamy conditions, both finals were played at a frantic pace but great spirit with Northern Suburbs FA 2 defeating a strong Kellyville Kolts side 3-2 while a fiery encounter in the women’s match saw an all St George FA affair as the 1’s beat the 2’s 3-2.
